Shri Ratan Thiyam eminent Theatre artist elected as Vice- chairman, Sangeet Natak Akademi.
The General Council of Sangeet Natak Akademi met on 17 August 2009 elected Shri Ratan Thiyam, eminent Theatre artist of Manipur as Vice – Chairman of Sangeet Natak Akademi. This is the first time and eminent artist from the North East region has been elected as the Vice – Chairman of the Akademi. The General Council also elected eleven persons on the Executive Board of the Akademi, thus completing the reconstitution process of Sangeet Natak Akademi.
