The Kendra provides scholarships to all the students
admitted in the Advance Course of Kathak Dance.
A student admitted in Diploma (Hons.) course gets Rs.
2000/- p.m. for the entire period of the course whereas
Post Diploma students get Rs. 3000/- p.m. for two years.
Besides this a total number of 10 scholarships of Rs.
1000/- p.m. each are provided for the special course of
Diploma in Tabla/Pakhawaj, (5 for Tabla and 5 for Pakhawaj).
The scholarships in Tabla/Pakhawaj are awarded on the
basis of the marks obtained in the annual examination
by the student. The minimum qualifying marks for scholarship
is 65%.
A student receiving scholarship from the Kendra will
not receive stipend/scholarship from any other source;
he/she, however, will have the option to choose between
the two.
Kathak Kendra has decided to provide 10 special scholarship
of Rs. 1000/- p.m. each to the student of Schedule Tribe/Schedule
Caste/Other backward classes recommended by Harijan Sevak
Sangh, Delhi seeking admission in the Kendra from the
session 2011-2012 onwards.
Terms and Conditions (for Scholarship)
A student awarded a scholarship in Post Diploma/ Diploma
(Hons.)/ Diploma (Tabla or Pakhawaj) by the Kendra has
to submit the following documents and he/she will be abided
by the following:
(i) A written agreement through a surety on a non-judicial
stamp paper of Rs. 10/- that if the student decides to
discontinue the training before the annual examination
(except on compelling circumstances), he/she shall return
all the money paid to him/her plus interest as per the
rule.
(ii) A surety of Rs. 30000/- (for Post Diploma Course),
Rs. 20000/- (for Diploma (Hons.) Course), and Rs. 10000/-
(for Diploma Course Tabla/Pakhawaj) duly attested by a
Gazetted Officer.
Note: If the student is a minor, his/her parent/guardian
has to execute the agreement.
(iii) No deduction of Scholarship amount will be made
for leave taken by the scholarship holder on medical ground
if it is within 10 days in a year. If, however, leave
exceeds more than ten days, proportionate deduction will
be made from the scholarship amount. (Leave on medical
grounds should be supported with medical certificate from
a registered physician.)
(iv) The Director has the power to condone shortfall
in attendance upto 10% for the purpose of examination,
but this will not be operative for the purpose of calculating
deduction in the percentage for the Scholarship amount.
(v) The students selected for award of scholarships
will be allowed a total of 20 days leave in an academic
year. Leave not availed during a particular year, will
not be carried over to the next year. Not more than 8
days leave will be granted at a stretch except on emergent
circumstances.
(vi) If a student attends only dance class and fails
to attend the allied subject classes his / her attendance
will not be taken into account for that day so far as
calculation for the scholarships money is concerned.
Freeships (Exemption from payment of Tuition Fees)
Forty Five Freeships are awarded to deserving candidates
as under:
Students in Dance Courses = 40
Foundation Course 15
Diploma (Pass) 10
Diploma (Hons.) 15
Students in Tabla & Pakhawaj Courses 05
Freeships are awarded to deserving candidates, whose
parents / guardians total monthly income does not exceed
Rs.8,000/-. The income statement is required to be certified
by a Gazetted officer.
