A festival of senior musicians was held from 30 May to 3 June 2008 at Agartala in association with Department of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Government of Tripura. The festival was the confluence of the different streams of Hindustaniand Carnatic Music presenting Dhrupad, Khayal, Sarangi, Pakhawaj, Rudra Veena, Saraswati Veena, Tabla and Sitar. Some regional musical forms such as Borgeet of Assam, Odissi Sangeet of Orissa, Nata Sankirtana of Manipur, Nazrul Geeti and Rabindra Sangeet of West Bengal were also featured.
