Rang Sangam Theatre Festival: Bhubaneswar - 6th to 11th September 2006

Rang Sangam is a festival of contemporary theatre produced by some well-known directors in different languages representing a confluence of creative ideas, methods, techniques and practices constantly evolving in the field of theatre in different parts of the country. The directors chosen to participate bring an eclectic mix of forms, styles and approaches; together they offer a small, but none the less, significant view of the best of theatre created by today's generation.

First of its kind, Rang Sangam Theatre Festival was organized at R.R.L. Auditorium, Regional Research Laboratory Campus, Bhubaneswar from 6-11 September 2006 in association with Orissa Sangeet Natak Akademi. Six plays of contemporary theatre
produced by some of well known directors in Assamese, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Dogri and Hindi were presented. The festival was inaugurated by Shri Sharat Pujari, eminent film and theatre personality of Orissa and Shri D N Pattanaik, Chairman,
Orissa Sangeet Natak Akademi. Hon'ble Minister of Art & Culture, Government of Orissa, Shri Surya Narayan Patra also graced the festival on the second day. The programme follows:

Ghumai (Dogri), dir. Balwant Thakur, Natrang, Jammu
