Nritya Parva: Guwahati- 15th to 17th Novermber 2006

Nritya Parva, the annual festival of Sattriya Dance sponsored by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, in association with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Government of Assam, was held at Guwahati from 15 to 17 November 2006. This celebration of Sattriya Tradition of Assam has come to stay as an annual feature conceived and organized as part of Akademi's
project of support to Sattriya dances and allied traditions.

The festival was inaugurated by Shri Gautam Bora, Minister of Cultural Affairs, Government of Assam, while the exhibition was inaugurated by Akademi Awardee Shri Khosakant Dev Goswami. The performances in the evening were followed by
lecture-demonstrations by the experts/gurus the next morning. The programme follows:

15 November
